Job description

Property Names: Hoffler Place and 61 Vandy

Area Groundskeeper: The Area Groundskeeper is responsible for the overall upkeep of property grounds, and common area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Keep all buildings and common areas free of debris and trash, including anywhere visible to students and parents
  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walkways
  • Paint fences and outbuildings
  • Clean out drainage, ditches, and culverts
  • Perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, etc.
  • Make minor repairs on all maintenance equipment
  • Notify supervisor of hazardous conditions and safety issues
  • Assist with inclement weather needs (i.e. floods, snow, ice, etc.)

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior grounds-keeping, landscaping or related work experience required
  • Certified Pool Operator designation preferred (if applicable)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers
  • Ability to speak, see, and hear
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and pull
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs
  • Ability to think, concentrate, and communicate
