JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, in Hershey, PA is seeking a part time overnight sleep technician.
Responsibilities include:
  • Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings; monitor and track research studies to ensure quality control.

  • Perform PSGs and DXA Scans and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, Holter EKG Monitor and other research participant data.

  • Maintain supplies for sleep laboratory as well as recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times for research studies.

  • Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine, blood) and knowledge of phlebotomy desired but not required. Training is available if needed.

  • Participate in aspects of sleep data management for assigned projects including: update and maintain databases; resolve problem data issues; track data collection forms, and other project materials; perform verification procedures.

  • Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.

Work Hours: Part time, PRN hours, working 3rd shift, including weekends, 8:30 pm-8:30 am
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred. Will consider sleep studies training in candidates with suitable experience.
Work Related Experience: 1 year related work experience required; 5 years preferred

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
