ย Our HR teamย isย seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to primarily supportย Degenkolb's payroll operations. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, this position will be responsible for payroll maintenance, data entry, recordkeeping, and preparing information to support accurate and timely payroll processing.

The HR Coordinator will also provide administrative support to the broader HR team as capacity allows. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll, HR, accounting, or administrative experience who enjoys detailed work and is interested in developing their HR and payroll knowledge. This is initially a part-time position, with the potential to grow into a full-time opportunity as the role and needs of the HR team evolve. This hybrid position can based at any of these offices: Detroit, Los Angeles, Oakland, Orange, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate payroll information, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, direct deposits, tax information, and other payroll-related changes.
  • Prepare and review payroll data for processing, following up on missing or potentially incorrect information.
  • Assist with payroll adjustments, reconciliations, reports, and year-end activities under the direction of the Payroll Manager.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation, procedures, calendars, and checklists.
  • Support payroll-related benefit and 401(k) deductions and contributions and assist with routine payroll inquiries.
  • Assist with the preparation and tracking of incentive compensation and other special compensation payments.
  • Support payroll audits, reporting, system updates, and process improvement projects.
  • Provide additional HR administrative and data-entry support as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1โ€“2 years of payroll administration or payroll processing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, data, and payroll systems.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on outstanding items.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Qualifications

  • ย Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll.
  • Experience with payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, or accounting systems.
