Job description

Weโ€™re looking for a hands-on Power Automate professional to help design and deliver smart, scalable automation solutions that improve business processes and support key operations. This part-time role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful workflow automation initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, and build solutions that create real impact across a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with business and process owners to evaluate workflows and identify automation opportunities.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and improve advanced Power Automate cloud and desktop flows.
  • Create production-ready automations for tasks such as intake routing, approvals, notifications, tracking, reporting, and exception handling.
  • Integrate Power Automate solutions with Microsoft 365 tools and related platforms such as SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Forms, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
  • Use expressions, variables, arrays, approvals, child flows, parallel branches, JSON parsing, error handling, and retry logic to develop robust workflow solutions.
  • Determine the best solution approach by evaluating Power Automate, Power Apps, robotic process automation, AI Builder, Copilot Studio, or other approved tools.
  • Develop secure, scalable automations that align with technology governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and access-control standards.
  • Create documentation, process maps, test scripts, support materials, and training resources for deployed solutions.
  • Troubleshoot flow failures, connector limitations, permissions issues, and data quality challenges.
  • Track and communicate automation results such as time savings, reduced errors, improved adoption, and operational efficiency.
  • Share knowledge and provide practical guidance to team members who will support or maintain solutions.
  • Help shape an automation roadmap and reusable patterns that can be expanded across teams and programs.
Skills
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 7 years of substantial, hands-on experience designing and deploying Microsoft Power Automate solutions in a production enterprise setting.
  • Strong expertise in Power Automate cloud flows, approvals, workflow orchestration, expressions, data operations, connectors, and error handling.
  • Experience building complex, multi-step automations that connect multiple systems, approval paths, users, and exception scenarios.
  • Experience integrating Power Automate with SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Forms, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, HTTP actions, authentication methods, and custom or premium connectors.
  • Knowledge of environment management, solution packaging, connection references, monitoring, deployment, and application lifecycle management within the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve difficult automation and performance issues.
  • Strong skill in translating business needs into clear technical requirements and practical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data security, role-based access, least-privilege principles, auditability, and enterprise controls.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas to nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working approximately 20 hours per week.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience deciding when to use Power Automate versus other Microsoft Power Platform or automation tools.
  • Familiarity with building prototypes or proofs of concept to validate feasibility and business value.
  • Experience creating support guides, training materials, and operating documentation for end users and support teams.
  • Background in driving measurable process improvement through automation.
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment with technology governance and cross-functional collaboration.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a willingness to coach others and share best practices.
