Description
The Part-Time Customer Service Clerk is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and administrative support with a Hospitality focus at Rosehill Community Center. This front-line position serves as a primary point of contact for patrons, renters, and program participants. Duties include anticipating client needs, answering inquiries, processing transactions, supporting facility operations, and assisting with events. This physically active role requires a professional demeanor, sound judgment, and late-night availability on Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
This is a part-time position with variable hours depending on operational needs.
Applicants must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Administrative Support:
  • Provide courteous and helpful service in person.
  • Assist with facility rentals and operations and general inquiries.
  • Use ActiveNet software to process payments and manage scheduling.
  • Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions; reconcile receipts.
  • Route calls, take messages, and provide accurate information about city services and programs.
Facility Operations & Event Support:
  • Open and close the Community Center following standard procedures.
  • Set up and break down rooms for rentals, classes, and events (tables, chairs, A/V, etc.).
  • Provide on-site support for events and rentals; ensure adherence to facility policies with a "Can Do Attitude" - always anticipating and commitment to solving problems.
  • Perform light custodial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and window cleaning.
  • Report facility maintenance issues or safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist with community special events, both onsite and offsite.
Safety & Team Collaboration:
  • Follow safety protocols and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Complete incident and facility reports accurately and promptly.
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
  • Work cooperatively with other city employees to support a safe and welcoming environment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs others duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. and,
  • Must be able to accurately type 40 wpm and,
  • Previous office experience in a customer service environment is preferred and,
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing and Certifications:
Washington State Driver's License with good driving record
First Aid Certification and CPR or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment.

Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather.
