Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role will provide coverage at one of our Walk-In Clinics, treating acute cases and minor emergencies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate expertise in a Walk-In setting. As a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. In addition to working with a great team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside one of our respected physicians.
JOB SUMMARY
In collaboration with a licensed physician, the advanced practice provider performs services in the practice of medicine. The primary responsibility is to extend clinical services in the delivery of health care. Serves as the direct representative of the physician in conjunction with other disciplines and departments.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Specific:
  1. In collaboration with physicians, provides medical management in the ambulatory clinic and hospital settings for adults, including acute, general, and preventative care. (EF)
  2. Conducts physical examination, assesses patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan, determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and prescribes appropriate medication regimen. (EF)
  3. Works in coordination with hospital departments, hospital management personnel, physicians, all hospital staff members, patients, and visitors to provide optimal patient centered care. (EF)
  4. Complete and maintain adequate and proper medical records with respect to all patients examined or treated in accordance with all legal, accreditation, regulatory and third-party payer requirements. (EF)
  5. Must demonstrate leadership and teaching ability.
  6. Assigned schedule may vary depending on practice needs. (EF)

Hospital:
  1. Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
  2. Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
  3. Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
  4. Performs within professional Scope of Practice at all times

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Nurse Practitioners:
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN Program.
  • CME as required.
  • FNP-C

Physician Assistant:
  • Graduate of an accredited ARC-PA Program.
  • CME as required.

Preferred: Additional education and/or training specific to the clinic specialty.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care.
Preferred: At least one year experience in a doctor's office or in a clinic setting.
Special Skills and Abilities:
Required: Ability to practice autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to manage the health needs of each patient. Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service.
Preferred: EMR/EHR experience
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Required: Maintain current license as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas. Current BLS. Current ACLS or ALS, if required by scope of practice.
Nurse Practitioners:
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Texas.
  • Certification by an agency approved by the American Nurses Association.

Physician Assistant
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistant.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physicians Assistant Examiners.

Preferred: Additional certification specific to the clinic specialty.
