Job Summary

In this role, you will collaborate with an Occupational Therapist to enhance the quality of life for residents by assisting with therapy activities and exercises outlined in their treatment plans. This position allows you to cultivate essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and creativity while providing comprehensive, quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver, monitor, and document services for patients/residents facing physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial challenges.
  • Select, implement, and adapt activities and interventions that align with established competency levels and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively and provide documentation to the occupational therapist.
  • Maintain knowledge of the targeted occupational therapy outcomes for each patient/resident.
Qualifications
  • Must possess the appropriate educational background as required by state licensure.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice is mandatory.
  • For those working at a Sanford Health Facility (preferred but not required for GSS Facilities): Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred. Adherence to state supervision and licensing standards is essential.
  • A valid driver's license may be required, depending on the role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
