Job description

SUMMARY
Provide customized training to corporate clients on an on-call basis, particularly in the areas of leadership, management, supervisory, and customer service skills. Deliver training based on the client's needs and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provide training and/or consulting to corporate clients as needed.
2. Assess training needs for clients in conjunction with Corporate Training and Development staff.
3. Customize training content and format to fit the client's objectives.
4. Provide instruction to clients in the areas of soft skills, such as leadership, supervisory skills, etc.
5. Deliver training in flexible schedule formats, using relevant training materials such as textbooks, handouts, class exercises, or assessment tools.
6. Continue to update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance.
7. Maintain familiarity with current curriculum, materials, teaching aids, and techniques related to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
8. Actively seek ways to improve instruction.
9. Attend scheduled meetings with the client and Corporate Training and Development staff as requested including Adjunct Faculty Orientation.
10. Maintain accurate records, including class schedules, student rosters, attendance reports, and grade rosters. Strict observance of these procedures is a requirement for on-going consideration for additional training assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a specialized area.
1 to 2 relevant certifications (Leadership, Customer Service, etc.) required.
Copy of transcript conferring required degree and certifications must accompany application.
EXPERIENCE
6 years of demonstrated corporate training/subject-related industry/technical experience required.
Higher education teaching, or corporate training experience preferred.
4 years HCC experience conducting corporate training preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge and experience in the discipline of management and leadership training, curriculum development, etc. with the ability to encourage clients to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
2. Knowledge of learning theory-motivational, perceptual, and emotional forces present in the learning process and the conditions which affect individual learning and change.
3. Knowledge of theories of leadership-alternative techniques and styles for guiding, motivating, and directing individuals under various situational conditions to achieve effective performance.
4. Knowledge of current developments in related fields of specialization with the ability to keep up to date on changes in policies and procedures to maintain current working knowledge.
5. Able to use current technology.
6. Able to contribute and present innovative ideas for new curricula and programs that combine traditional schedules with new demands from industry schedules.
7. Able to demonstrate consideration of others.
8. Able to speak, read and write the English language effectively.
9. Able to clearly and effectively present ideas in discussion and oral presentations.
10. Able to meet deadlines for reports and other required paperwork.
11. Able to customize training content and format to fit the client's objectives.
12. Able to produce professional quality handouts and presentations.
13. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communication.
14. Must be comfortable training in a corporate environment with the ability to interact professionally with corporate clients.
