612-Clubhouse II - 6076-612 P/T Recreation Leader

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct or general supervision, assists in conducting activities in connection with recreation and community services programs of a recreational facility; performs related work as necessary. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Recreation Leader - Clubhouses / Community Center

Assists in developing and coordinating recreational activities, events, programs and classes. Assists with event set-up, break down and clean up; lifting up to 50lbs. Sets-up and manages audio/video equipment for special events. Monitors safety of facility, programs, events and activities.

Assists with office duties, including research, data entry, report generating and filing. Assists with facility reservations. Registers residents for classes and programs. Collects fees for reservations, classes, and activities.

Provides excellent customer service and build meaningful relationships with residents. Effectively works in a team environment with management, staff, volunteers, community clubs, contractors and residents.

Provides basic custodial services as needed.

Opens and closes facilities as scheduled. Work and assist the security and compliance departments as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Recreation Leader – Fitness Centers

Assists greeting resident members, providing excellent customer services.  Assists in the coordination of fitness programs and events; lifting up to 50lbs. Monitors safety of facility, programs, events and activities.

Provides basic custodial services as needed.

Opens and closes Fitness Center as scheduled. Work and assist the security and compliance departments as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Provides excellent customer service and build meaningful relationships with residents. Effectively works in a team environment with management, staff, volunteers, community clubs, contractors and residents.

For all Recreation Leaders:

Regular attendance is required.  All duties performed on-site for the Community.

Works effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listens to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others; keeps commitments; keeps others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addresses others by name, title or other respectful identifier; and respects the diversity of our workforce in actions, words and deeds.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Sells tickets, acts as clubhouse host for functions when assigned.  Minor equipment repair and cleaning.

  

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Drill, small hand tools, truck and hand dolly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Most often work is done inside, in a climate controlled environment. Occasionally work is done outside.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school and some work experience preferably involving regular public contact, or equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:

  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work hours determined by shift assignment.
  • Ability to regularly exert heavy physical effort in moving furniture and equipment.
  • Ability to set up room from diagram sketches.
  • Ability to learn controlling fire prevention regulations.
  • Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer software and applications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs, and occasionally up to 100lbs. 

Reaching is required continually along with frequent crouching, kneeling, pulling, pushing and stooping.  Climbing is required occasionally.

 

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Reading, read diagrams, verbal and written communication skills, customer contact and constant interruptions.
