We're looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Part-Time Office Assistant to be the first point of contact for visitors while supporting the daily operations of one of Mooresville's premier community facilities.
About the Role
The Part-Time Office Assistant provides administrative and customer service support by serving as the first point of contact for visitors and callers while assisting with a variety of clerical and office support functions. This position plays an important role in supporting daily departmental operations by greeting customers, answering questions, processing information, maintaining records, and performing data entry and other administrative tasks.
Working under regular supervision, the Office Assistant is expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain accurate records, and support staff with routine administrative duties. This is a part-time, intermittent position with varying work hours based on departmental needs.
Duties and Responsibilites
• Greet visitors and serve as the initial point of contact for customers in person and by phone
• Answer routine questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member
• Perform reception, clerical, and administrative support duties
• Enter data and maintain electronic and paper records and filing systems
• Prepare correspondence, forms, and other documents as assigned
• Process routine paperwork and maintain accurate departmental records
• Operate standard office equipment and utilize computer software to complete daily tasks
• Provide general administrative support to departmental staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) to two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience with an emphasis on customer service and public interaction;
OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
• Ability to perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
Work Schedule
• Part-time, intermittent position
• Must be available to work varying shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., based on departmental needs

• This is a part-time intermittent position and is not eligible for Town benefits.
