Job description

In Vision Ace Hardware we take pride in taking care of our customers! We are seeking individuals that can show great attitude and helpful service to our customers. "We are ACE HARDWARE - THE HELPFUL PLACE!" We need timely attendance and willingness to work each day to the fullest!

Cashiers exemplify the foundation of our service to each customer as they enter and leave our store.
Cashier responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Operate cash register (POS) with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle merchandise returns and exchanges quickly and efficiently.
  • Ask each customer for their Ace Rewards card or be able to explain the program and invite them to join.
  • Count the cash drawer to verify accuracy before each shift, and balance the drawer at the end of the shift, documenting checks, cash, and credit cards.
  • Address customer complaints in a positive manner and involve store management when necessary.
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
  • Ability to physically use a scanner to scan all merchandise and to use Point of Sale keyboard and computer keyboard for all transactions
  • The ability to see and read product labels, dispense product knowledge, and communicate with customers
  • Manual dexterity; working with cash registers and computers, assembly of some products; ability to quickly make appropriate change for customers
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Bending, climbing, and twisting are routine; the position requires the ability to retrieve, stock, and move product
  • Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
