Job description

Position Details

The Computer Science Department in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education atUniversity of Tampa invites applications for Part-Time instructors to teach courses in Computer Science. Currently, courses within the Computer Science Department are taught in person during the normal workday (8am to 5pm). Candidates should consider this before applying.


Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching one or two 4-hour computer science courses per semester;

  • Providing a meeting time for students enrolled in courses;

  • Modifying existing course syllabi with input from the department course coordinator;

  • Managing online course systems for courses (Canvas);

  • Providing support for academic accreditation programs (e.g. ABET); and

  • Entering grades into the online grading system (Workday).

The successful candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in computer science;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • Teaching experience (preferred);

  • Demonstrated continuous self-improvement by actively pursuing discipline-related continuing education, professional development, or active participation with professional or academic organizations.
