Description
The incumbent is the first impression of the Parks and Recreation Department. The job at the front office is to receive customers, clients or any visitor who comes to the organization in an appropriate way and direct them properly. The job of the people working at the front desk is to answer calls made to the organization and render services for the same; and any other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
  • Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
  • Answer phone calls and redirect them to the concerned people effectively; record complaints, problems, queries and providing suitable answers and assistance for the same.
  • Receive postal, courier packages addressed to the employees of the organization and sending them to the addressed person correctly.
  • Coordinate the communication between employees of different departments.
  • Schedule practices for sports as called in; assist with registrations for sports, pavilions, memberships, rentals, and trash bags.
  • Check in members and maintain member database.
  • Maintain a clean front desk and lobby to provide a pleasant atmosphere for patrons.
  • Enforcing and interpreting Recreation Center rules to provide a safe, orderly, and family-friendly environment for all patrons.
  • Responsible for closing out and balancing register.
  • May be required to work weekends for special program events and tournaments.
  • Complete daily tasks as assigned, such as cleaning, inventory, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, or relevant experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of telephones, personal computer, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects.
  • Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.

Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
