Computer technicians usually take one of two roles: Some work for specific companies or facilities, such as server data centers, while others provide repair services to the public. You can also work on-call to provide help when it is needed rather than staying at the repair center all the time. Some details of this job vary based on the kinds of customers you have. For example, data center technicians often focus on a few select models of hardware and software while technicians in senior communities may repair more old machines than the average computer technician.
