Job Summary
South Georgia State College's School of Business and Professional Studies is seeking applications for part-time faculty to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) program. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate success in some or all of these areas: service to the College, academic achievement, professional growth and development, and course assessment. Teaching assignments may be assigned to any SGSC campus, off-campus, day, evenings, week-ends, or on-line.
Responsibilities
Class Schedule -
Meet either online synchronous or asynchronous for each class as scheduled at the designated time and place and for the designated length of time.
Class Syllabus -
At the beginning of each course, provide a website syllabus, a class syllabus, and CV per the guidelines in the faculty handbook.
Teaching Discipline(s) -
Stay current in the teaching discipline(s) and the pedagogy of that discipline.
Banner Administration -
Submit correct proof rosters and grades in Banner by the assigned deadlines. Record daily attendance according to institutional policy.
Maintain adequate records of student progress (using required program documentation) including posting mid-term grades in Banner.
Assessment Data -
Submit assessment data to the Assessment Coordinator at the end of each semester by the required deadline.
Office Hours -
Be available to meet with students outside of class.
Meetings -
Be available for part-time faculty/supervision meetings.
Travel Requirements -
May require travel to all SGSC campuses and sites.
Perform Other Duties -
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
The completion of a master's degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
Required Experience
Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential.
Technology skills and good interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
A Doctorate Degree in the field of Business Administration, Financial Literacy, Accounting, Leadership, Management, Organizational Management/Behavior, etc.
Preferred Experience
Three years teaching experience.
