The Village of Plainfield - Management Services Department is currently seeking to fill the part-time position of Clerical Assistant. This position will work approximately 24 hours a week Monday-Friday.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Prepare the office for daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, determine the purpose of each call, provide general information, and route inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.Greet and assist visitors to Village Hall, determine the nature of their visit, and provide information, assistance, or direction as needed.Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate departments.Process payments for Village services received in person and by mail.Receive and record payments, make change, issue receipts, prepare transaction reports, maintain and balance the cash drawer, and verify daily cash totals against transaction records.Deliver exceptional customer service while fostering positive relationships with residents, businesses, and visitors through courteous and responsive assistance.Perform a variety of general clerical and administrative duties, including filing, copying, collating, scanning, and maintaining records.Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Pay & Benefits:The starting hourly wage for this non-exempt position is $22.61 per hour.  This position has paid time off and holiday pay.
