Job description

Summary:
The City of Lawrence is seeking a transit focused administrative technician. This is a part-time, temporary position. Duties include responsible part-time work facilitating customer service interactions including calls, emails, and questions at the front desk of Central Station.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be an organized and friendly individual able to interact respectfully and consistently with the public; track and log complaints and customer service responses; work with our online dashboards to track buses and resolve rider issues; escalate and collaborate on complex issues. Familiarity with the Lawrence Transit service and ability to read a map preferred.
Qualifications:
Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade with one to two years clerical work experience. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent phone skills, a personable attitude that is both team- and service-oriented. Must be familiar with modern office practices, committed to continuous improvement, and view problems as opportunities rather than obstacles. This position requires knowledge of MS Office. Excel is preferred with a focus on spreadsheet management.
This position requires a valid license.
The successful candidate will also pass the background check, post-offer City physical, and a drug screen.
