Description:
  • Oversees daily operations, staff, curriculum, and safety, ensuring compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) licensing regulations.
  • Key responsibilities include leading team members, managing enrollment, fostering family engagement, implementing curriculum, and managing budgets
  • Recruit, train, and supervise teachers, conducting performance evaluations and mentoring
  • Ensure the center meets all Maryland child care licensing regulations and health/safety standards
  • Build positive relationships with parents, manage tours, and spearhead enrollment efforts
  • Oversee developmentally appropriate curriculum implementation
  • Manage budgets, payroll, and billing, often using child care management software
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency, or ? Successful completion of college courses for education
  • 6 semester, 90 clock hours or the equivalent of approved early childhood coursework (45 hours child development and 45 hours curriculum planning),
  • At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
  • 40-45 clock hours or the equivalent of approved administrative training
  • 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance
  • Within 6 months after date of hire, complete a regulation training
  • 1 year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting
