Job description

The Table Games Dealer is responsible for the accurate and professional operation of casino table games in accordance with house rules and regulatory guidelines. This role ensures game integrity, guest engagement, and the security of casino assets while delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deals all table games offered by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintains expected hands-per-hour standard as established by the department.
  • Sells chips to players and securely deposits currency into the drop box.
  • Pays winning wagers and collects losing bets according to established payout procedures.
  • Explains game rules and procedures to guests using clear and courteous communication.
  • Refers guest disputes to Floor Supervisors and escalates irregularities as necessary.
  • Verifies and signs for fills and credits; counts and balances chip trays.
  • Accepts tips in compliance with internal controls and guest service expectations.
  • Shuffles and cuts cards according to gaming procedures.
  • Reports suspicious play, disputes, or irregularities to the Floor Supervisor.
  • Maintains integrity and security of all table games while delivering consistent 4-Star/4-Diamond guest service.
  • Ensures compliance with all Title 31 procedures, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be proficient in dealing single and multiple deck games, either hand-held or from a shoe.
  • Working knowledge of all banking card games, house rules, and chip handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations, Title 31 compliance, and game-opening/closing protocols.
  • Strong mathematical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver positive, professional, and tactful guest interaction.
  • Maintains high integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Craps experience preferred but not required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a certified table games dealer school or formal dealer training program is required.
  • Minimum of 1โ€“2 years of experience dealing one or more table games in a regulated casino environment.
  • Proficient in dealing games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, or other specialty games as assigned.
  • Strong knowledge of game rules, procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Ability to maintain game integrity, handle payouts accurately, and monitor player behavior.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license in accordance with regulatory requirements.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifts and carries chips, cards, racks, and other table game accessories weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Continuously uses hands and fingers with speed and precision to shuffle and deal cards, handle chips, operate game equipment, and perform accurate payouts and transactions.
  • Mobility: Frequently stands in a stationary position at a gaming table for extended periods; occasionally walks or moves short distances to shift between assigned tables or attend meetings.
  • Stationary Work: Remains standing for the majority of the shift while dealing games; must maintain consistent physical posture and alertness throughout.
  • Tool Operation: Regular use of cards, chips, card shufflers, chip racks, pit communication tools, and standard table gaming accessories.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires excellent near vision and focus to monitor player actions, identify card values, read wagers, detect irregularities, and verify table game activity in real time.
  • Working Conditions: Routinely operates on the casino floor with constant exposure to bright lights, loud noise, continuous guest interaction, and a smoking environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
