Job description

Amazon is inventing at the frontier of computing - designing custom chips that power cloud infrastructure and AI workloads at unprecedented scale. We're seeking a communications professional to join our team and help tell that story.
For over a decade, Amazon has designed custom chips that have transformed cloud computing and artificial intelligence. What began with the 2015 acquisition of Annapurna Labs has grown into a $10+ billion business. Today, Graviton processors run applications for 90% of AWS's largest customers and Trainium chips train frontier AI models including one of the world's largest AI supercomputers.
As PR Specialist for Chips, you'll support how customers, media, and the industry understand Amazon's leadership in semiconductor design and advanced computing hardware. You'll help translate chip architecture breakthroughs and large-scale deployments into clear, credible stories - contributing to major product launches, customer wins, and technical announcements.
This is a unique opportunity to gain high-visibility experience on one of Amazon's most strategic communications programs - while building deep connections across the company's global communications organization.
The ideal candidate will be organized, resourceful, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment. You'll need strong writing skills, good project management instincts, and the initiative to see what needs doing and do it - without waiting to be asked.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive communications support for product launches, strategic announcements, and thought leadership programs
- Build media relationships and pitch stories that advance Amazon's narrative in top technology publications
- Write media materials, talking points, and briefing documents that make complex chip technology accessible to any audience
- Work across Amazon and AWS communications teams to keep messaging aligned and amplify our story across channels
- Monitor and analyze media coverage to identify trends, measure impact, and sharpen our strategy
About the team
This role is part of the communications team supporting Amazon's investments in foundational AI models, custom silicon, and quantum computing, within Amazon's Global Communications and Community Impact organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong writing skills with ability to simplify technical concepts for general audiences
- Experience working with engineering or product teams
- Track record pitching and securing coverage in technology publications
- Comfort working under tight deadlines with shifting priorities
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Interest in AI, cloud computing, or semiconductors
