JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The College of Engineering Robert V. Waltemeyer Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Research Assistant to support Dean Patrick Mather's lab at the University Park campus to start as soon as possible.
The temporary research assistant will support an interdisciplinary seed-funded research project investigating shape memory polymer scaffolds for plant mechanobiology.
Responsibilities include:
  • Fabricating electrospun polymer fiber scaffolds
  • Preparing samples, conducting materials characterization (e.g., SEM, thermal analysis, mechanical testing)
  • Documenting experimental results
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Assisting with data analysis

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in electrospinning, polymeric biomaterials, and safe laboratory practices, capable of working independently while collaborating with the project team.
Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $22.00 per hour.
