Job description

North End Teleservices is seeking reliable and safety-focused Shuttle Drivers to join our team. A CDL is not required for this position; however, candidates must obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card prior to employment.
As a Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting employees and authorized passengers using company vans along designated routes and schedules. This role requires operating vehicles in all weather conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Additional responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, performing daily pre-trip safety checks, maintaining cleanliness of company vehicles, assisting with emergency evacuation procedures, and accurately completing all required forms, reports, and documentation.
Must have proof of a valid drivers' license and current vehicle insurance.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years driving experience and demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record.

Shifts
  • AM or PM Part Time (30 hours minimum weekly) / Monday- Friday

Job Duties:
  • Drives company vehicles safely and professionally.
  • Drives company vehicles on scheduled/designated routes.
  • Complies with all traffic rules, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in handling and maneuvering the vehicle.
  • Services, inspects, and cleans vehicles and related equipment.
  • Ability to work with distractions.
  • Working with and understanding a diverse employee population.
  • Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspection; completes forms, records, and reports as required.

Preferred Skills:
  • Must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations.
  • Must have a DOT medical card before start of employment.
  • Must have organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift, move and reposition objects and materials- frequently exerting force equal to lifting fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Nebraska driver's license.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years driving experience and demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Evidence of understanding and willingness to comply with the practices and procedures cited in the North End Teleservices Employee Handbook.
  • A background check which demonstrates to North End Teleservices that background is acceptable for the position.
  • Verification of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (if required for position offered).

Requirements:
  • Local travel will be required.
  • Time management and organizational skills to keep track of records, schedules of pick-up and drop-off times and the ability to stay on schedule.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers/employees.
  • Collating and editing transport schedules based on passengers' needs.
  • Arriving at collection points prior to departure times.
  • Confirming that all passengers are present and recording no-shows.
  • Ensuring adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing.
  • Avoiding high-traffic and accident-prone routes, where possible.
  • Separating physical fights and calming verbal altercations, as needed.
  • Recording and reporting all major accidents and incidents to your supervisor.
  • Checking that passengers disembark at the correct destinations, and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that the shuttle bus is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable always.
  • Observing all relevant traffic and safety laws.

North End Teleservices will offer a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.
Attendance and Punctuality:
Employees will follow the work schedule assigned and must comply with the attendance and established punctuality requirements.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
A CDL (commercial drivers license) is not required for this position. However, drivers must have experience in driving medium-duty (class 3-6) or heavy-duty (class 7-8) vehicles with a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of over 10,000 pounds. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, box trucks, utility trucks, large walk-in vans, bucket trucks, small dump trucks, beverage trucks, shuttle busses, and school busses.
