Job description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Experience Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient food and beverage operation.
  • Always maintain a positive attitude and appearance.
  • Approach guests in a friendly manner to offer assistance and provide information regarding Newport Aquarium.
  • Arrive on time and ready to work all scheduled shifts, and in accordance with aquarium uniform and appearance standards.
  • Always keep safety as a number one priority while working at Newport Aquarium.
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as disciplined and reliable.
  • Always maintain appropriate guest and team member relations, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible for maintaining store cleanliness in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.
  • Maintain a friendly, respectful, outgoing and proactive approach to guests and team members.
  • Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by the Food and Beverage management team.
  • Ability and willingness to cross train in other food and beverage areas.
  • Contribute to a work environment that is satisfying, enjoyable and energetic.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior cash handling and point of sale experience is a plus.
  • Must have strong public speaking skills the ability to read, write and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
  • Must be able to think clearly, react quickly, and calmly to changes and/or stressful situations
  • Previous guest service, food industry or retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and/or weekends and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods, ascend/descend stairs, bend and stoop.
  • Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
