The Café Team Member's role is an integral part of the efficient, enthusiastic team that makes Grand Central Bakery's vibrant cafes such wonderful spaces to be in. The Café Team Member is passionate about supporting a welcoming café environment and serving delicious products to a community of loyal customers. They deliver outstanding customer service, following the 3 Steps to Great Service at all times, and can work any shift or station for which they are trained. The Café Team Member uses company systems proficiently, handles cash accurately, and contributes to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative atmosphere in support of Grand Central Bakery's mission, vision, and values.
The Cafe Team Member's role is an integral part of the efficient, enthusiastic team that makes Grand Central Bakery's vibrant cafes such wonderful spaces. Cafe Team Members can work the following shifts: Retail Open, Mid-Shift, Retail Close. The Cafe Team Member is expected to regularly and efficiently work on the sandwich bar and barista station.
Rate of Pay: This position pays $16.96 plus tips (this is a part-time position, 24 hours/week or fewer).
  • Tips average $7.00 - $9.00 per hour.

Schedule:
  • Part-time, 24 or less hours each week.
  • Schedule flexibility, including days of the week and time of day, is required.
  • Must be able to cover any shift from open, mid, and/or close.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required
  • Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card at all times and follows health department guidelines at all times.
  • Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and perform basic math with ease required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to interact with customers for a full shift, in a busy, loud environment with frequent change, while maintaining outstanding customer service required
  • Food service experience preferred

Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
  • This position works in a building shared with production facilities and is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat). Busy café environment with constant customer interaction, constant interruptions, and noise.
