Job description

Greenway Kia East is looking for a part-time Technician to join our team! 
We need a part time technician that can perform on a high level of accuracy and efficiency. A Technician will have a strong understanding and will demonstrate the ability to work on gas-powered engines. This individual will be extremely familiar with repairing and rebuilding engines, transmissions, drive line and differentials. Our Auto Mechanics are responsible for providing dependable service in a timely manner while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
  • Test-drives vehicles and tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs automotive transmissions and related systems
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • ASE Certification or Graduated from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repair preferred
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of engines (gas and diesel), power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's , wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors, engine bolt-on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system, brake systems including ABS, suspension systems, complete assemblies, turbo chargers and fuel systems
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment and lift operation
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Must have a valid driver's license
