How much do part time blockchain data scientist jobs pay per year?

As of Sep 5, 2026, the average yearly pay for part time blockchain data scientist in the United States is $122,738.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $98,500.00 and $136,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What does a part time blockchain data scientist do?

A Part Time Blockchain Data Scientist analyzes and interprets large datasets generated from blockchain networks to derive insights, identify trends, and improve systems. They use statistical and machine learning techniques to understand blockchain transaction patterns, detect anomalies, and optimize smart contract performance. This role often involves working with distributed data, developing predictive models, and supporting blockchain-based business decisions, all on a flexible, part-time basis.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time blockchain data scientist?

To thrive as a Part Time Blockchain Data Scientist, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in data science methodologies, and a solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, often evidenced by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R, blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, and data analysis tools like SQL or Spark is typically required, with certifications in blockchain or data science being advantageous. Excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and effective communication skills distinguish top performers in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for extracting actionable insights from decentralized data and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams in a rapidly evolving field.

How do part time blockchain data scientists typically balance project workloads and collaborate with full-time team members?

Part-time Blockchain Data Scientists often work on specific projects or modules, requiring strong time management and clear communication to stay aligned with full-time colleagues. They frequently participate in scheduled meetings and use collaborative tools like GitHub, Slack, or JIRA to track progress and share updates. It's common to focus on tasks that can be completed independently, such as data analysis or smart contract auditing, while maintaining regular check-ins with the broader team. This structure enables part-time professionals to contribute meaningfully while accommodating their flexible schedules.

What is the difference between Part Time Blockchain Data Scientist vs Part Time Blockchain Analyst?

AspectPart Time Blockchain Data ScientistPart Time Blockchain Analyst
Required CredentialsDegree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field; knowledge of blockchain technology; programming skillsBackground in finance, business, or IT; understanding of blockchain concepts; analytical skills
Work EnvironmentData-focused roles, research, and development teams; often in tech or finance sectorsBusiness analysis, market research, and reporting; in finance, consulting, or blockchain firms
Employer & Industry UsageTech companies, blockchain startups, financial institutionsFinancial services, consulting firms, blockchain platforms

While both roles involve blockchain technology, a Part Time Blockchain Data Scientist focuses on analyzing large datasets, developing models, and extracting insights using data science techniques. In contrast, a Part Time Blockchain Analyst primarily interprets blockchain data for business insights, market trends, and strategic decision-making. The data scientist role is more technical and research-oriented, whereas the analyst role emphasizes business applications and reporting.

Job description

Data Scientist
Remote | U.S. Citizenship Required | Security Clearance Eligibility Required | Part Time

Why This Role Exists
The work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much.

D amp;G is seeking Data Scientist to develop statistically defensible representations of logistics-network behavior for modeling, simulation, and decision support. This role characterizes variability and uncertainty, fits probability distributions for key network variables, develops statistical or predictive models where they add value, and evaluates simulation outputs. Working with Operations Research Analysts and technical SMEs, the Data Scientist converts observed data into defensible assumptions and clearly communicates confidence, uncertainty, and limitations. The role focuses on statistical analysis rather than data pipelines, database architecture, or simulation software infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to characterize distributions, variability, correlations, outliers, missingness, seasonality, and other patterns in logistics and operational data.
  • Fit and validate probability distributions for key network variables and quantify uncertainty using statistical methods, sensitivity analysis, resampling, and Monte Carlo techniques.
  • Develop and evaluate statistical and predictive models, including classification, clustering, and anomaly detection, to improve understanding of logistics-system behavior and support mission decisions.
  • Assess data sufficiency, model assumptions, performance, and uncertainty to distinguish meaningful signals from noise and identify additional data needs.
  • Partner with Operations Research Analysts to translate empirical findings and probability distributions into defensible stochastic inputs, parameters, and assumptions for modeling and simulation.
  • Analyze simulation outputs for variability, confidence, convergence, sensitivity, and statistical significance, collaborating with Data Engineers, Database Architects, and Logistics SMEs to validate analytical fitness.
  • Translate results into decision-ready visualizations and findings, and document methods, assumptions, code, diagnostics, limitations, and data provenance to support reproducibility and government delivery.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience applying statistics, probability, data science, or predictive analytics to complex operational or mission problems.
  • Strong foundation in probability distributions, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, regression, uncertainty quantification, and model validation.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, including practical use of common scientific and statistical analysis libraries.
  • Demonstrated experience performing exploratory analysis, fitting distributions, evaluating statistical models, Monte Carlo techniques, and communicating analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with modeling and simulation, operations research, logistics analytics, or other stochastic analytical environments.

Preferred

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Bayesian analysis, survival/reliability analysis, time-series analysis, or other techniques relevant to logistics-network uncertainty.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government or Department of War modeling, simulation, analytics, or decision-support programs using logistics, transportation, aviation, cargo, UAS, operational-energy, or other mission-performance data.

Location

  • Remote
  • 10% Travel to client site in Washington, D.C. as needed.

Clearance and Eligibility

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to attain a security clearance.

  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Who We Are
At D amp;G Solutions, people come first; our teammates, customers, and the communities we serve.
We are one of the fastest growing companies in the Washington, DC area and proud to be recognized nationally as a Best Place to Work. As an 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, and Women Owned Small Business, we bring ownership, accountability, and care to everything we do. We also deeply believe in giving back and proudly support organizations such as Homes for Our Troops, SemperK9, and Wreaths Across America.
Our teams are welcoming, collaborative, and deeply committed to mission success. We believe great work happens when people feel supported, respected, and trusted, and we work hard to create that environment every day.

What We Offer
Competitive salary | Benefits | 401(k) | Bonus and profit sharing | Flexible hours | Education reimbursement | PTO

Final Note
If you want to work for a company that cares about its people, contribute to a mission that truly matters, and be part of a team where you are valued for who you are as well as what you do, we would love to hear from you.
