Job Summary:
The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Epidemiology & Biostatistics. The successful candidate will:
  • Teach assigned course in Biostatistics.
  • Use model methods of teaching including online and in-person engagement, problem-based learning, team projects, and discussion boards.
  • Manage and oversee the learning environment, instructional activities, course materials, and online grading system.
  • Provide student advisement, review program/course outcomes criteria with students; provide guidance and support student progress.
  • Evaluate students through class participation, assignments, and exams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree or Doctoral Candidate or equivalent professional degree in a discipline related to Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Data Science.
  • Graduate-level teaching, teaching fellow or teaching assistant experience.
  • Experience using online learning management systems.
  • Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
