Position Information
Job Title Part Time - Biology Instructor Location Lake County Campus - Clear Lake, CA Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures and laboratories for BIOLOGY, ECOLOGY, ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY OR MICROBIOLOGY courses up to 10 hours/week;
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
Essential Duties Summary
REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess the minimum qualifications stated below:
  • Master's in any biological science OR
  • Bachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science
  • OR the equivalent
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Biology to community college students.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
