Part Time Barefoot information

What are part-time barefoot jobs?

Part-time barefoot jobs typically refer to roles that require individuals to work without wearing shoes, often in environments like yoga studios, wellness centers, or certain hospitality venues. These jobs may include yoga instructors, spa therapists, or dance teachers where being barefoot is necessary for safety, hygiene, or cultural reasons. Working part-time in such roles offers flexibility in scheduling and can be ideal for those seeking a work-life balance. It's important to note that hygiene and safety standards are usually enforced to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part-Time Barista, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part-Time Barista, you need basic food and beverage preparation skills, customer service experience, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with espresso machines, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and health and safety protocols is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure help you stand out in this role. These capabilities ensure consistent product quality, excellent customer experiences, and smooth daily operations in a busy café environment.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time baristas, and how can they be addressed?

Part-time baristas often face challenges such as managing busy rush hours, maintaining consistency in drink preparation, and balancing their work schedule with other commitments. Team communication and time management are key to overcoming these challenges. Many cafés provide training and support to help new baristas get comfortable with equipment and processes, and working closely with experienced team members can help ease the learning curve. Open communication with supervisors can also help ensure manageable scheduling and a positive work environment.

Job description

Born to Splay – Scottsdale, AZ
 (Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity)

Minimal Footwear. Maximum Footcare.

Born to Splay is Arizona’s only natural footwear boutique, connecting minimalist footwear with advanced footcare as part of the Ethereal Wellness family. We are building a brand that blends retail, wellness, and education to help clients move naturally and confidently.

We are hiring a Sales Leader to take ownership of the shoe store experience and help grow the brand.

This is a hands-on, performance-driven role for someone who thrives on accountability, takes initiative, and is motivated by results and commission.

The Role

You will be the lead and primary employee of the shoe store, responsible for both daily sales and overall store performance.

You will:

  •  Lead all client interactions and drive sales through education and connection
  •  Help clients find the right footwear and introduce them to total footcare solutions
  •  Manage inventory, merchandising, and overall store operations
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and elevated retail environment
  •  Take initiative in building relationships, partnerships, and local awareness
  •  Support events and outreach efforts that bring new clients into the store
  •  Track performance and take ownership of improving results

You will be supported by the Ethereal team when needed, but you are the leader of the shoe store experience.

Who This Role Is For

  •  A sales-driven professional who enjoys working directly with clients and closing sales
  •  Someone who thrives on accountability and results and is motivated by commission
  •  A self-starter who takes initiative without needing constant direction
  •  Someone who can balance sales, operations, and growth efforts
  •  A professional who wants to help grow a brand, not just work in a store

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in retail sales, footwear, fitness, or wellness
  •  Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  •  Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  •  Organized and comfortable managing both sales and operations
  •  Interest in or willingness to learn about barefoot footwear and foot health

Compensation & Schedule

  •  Hiring Immediately
  •  Part-Time: Tuesday–Saturday, approximately 22–28 hours per week
  •  Mondays may be required for operations or events
  • Hourly Rate: $16 per hour
  • Commission: Performance-based and uncapped

This role is designed for someone motivated by results. The primary earning potential comes from commission and sales performance.

Top performers have the opportunity to earn well above base pay through consistent sales and growth performance.

  •  Opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership role
