As a retail too baker, you’ll be surrounded by the best of fresh ingredients, delicious bagels, and incredible people. At Western Bagel you aren't just a number, you're family.

You will bake, service customers, handle money, and be the face of our bakery.

Job Summary:

We are seeking energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented people to join our hard-working and dedicated baker. The ideal candidate for this role excels in a fast-paced work environment, can handle multiple tasks and objectives, and enjoys working closely and effectively with fellow team members. We desire people that care about the details, and a clean, organized, and safe work environment. We are looking for people that enjoy working with others to achieve goals and can work independently when required. Must be open to working the early day shift.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Baker team members will perform a variety of important tasks such as baking, storing, and gathering bagels for bagging.

Here are the minimum requirements:

  • Have good time management skills and obey safety regulations.
  • Works with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work area.
  • Follows and performs all duties safely and uses discretion to prevent injuries.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, paying attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work in different temperature environments.
  • Adhere to all safety and health regulations; achieve and maintain a Food Handlers certification.

Physical Activities performed on a regular or continuous basis:

  • Stand
    • +/- 8 hours
  • Walk
    • +/- 8 hours
  • Squats, bends and lifts boards, baskets
  • Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Skills / Abilities:

  • Good verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Previous work experience in other similar industrial, manufacturing, or production line environment is welcomed.
