Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Dishwasher plays an essential role in the success of every SBR Events Group event by keeping the kitchen supplied with clean, sanitized tableware, cookware, and service equipment. This position maintains a clean workstation and kitchen equipment - including but not limited to tableware, pots, pans, chafers, platters, and any other equipment assigned by the manager - and supports overall kitchen sanitation, safety, and efficiency during event production and service.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
Maintain a clean workstation and kitchen equipment, including but not limited to tableware, pots, pans, chafers, platters, and any other equipment assigned by the manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand and by machine, following proper wash, rinse, and sanitize procedures.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and correctly, monitoring temperatures and chemical levels, and reporting malfunctions promptly.
  • Distribute and store clean pots, plates, and utensils in their designated locations, inspecting items for cleanliness and damage before storage.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen areas according to established cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Empty trash containers as required and maintain a clean, organized waste and disposal area.
  • Maintain the assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition throughout the shift.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with the department dress code.
  • Follow all safety regulations; report injuries, unsafe conditions, and unsafe work practices to the supervisor immediately.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager to support kitchen and event operations.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, cleaning schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume event kitchen environment.
  • Reliable attendance and availability for a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:
  • Prior experience in dishwashing, or kitchen support in a restaurant, catering, banquet, or institutional setting.
  • Food handler certification (or ability to obtain within the timeframe required by company policy and applicable law).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to a full shift).
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 pounds, including racks, bus tubs, and stacked equipment.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive hand and arm motion.
  • Work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, humidity, noise, wet floors, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, apron, and slip-resistant footwear.
