Overview

This role is responsible for the end-to-end investigation, evaluation, and resolution of 1st party automobile claims filed by branch operations. This role involves determining coverage, assessing vehicle damage, and ensuring fair and timely settlements in accordance with policy terms and state regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial contact with branch management to gather facts of the loss and explain the claims process

  • Review insurance policies to determine applicable coverages, limits, and deductibles

  • Coordinate vehicle inspections and review repair estimates from body shops or independent appraisers for accuracy

  • Evaluate total loss claims and negotiate settlements based on actual cash value (ACV)

  • Identify potential subrogation opportunities and refer cases to the recovery department

  • Maintain detailed and accurate claim file documentation and status update.

  • Collaborate consistently with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and regulatory departments

Candidate Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in auto claims adjusting or a related field in the insurance industry

  • Valid state-issued Adjuster License as required by jurisdiction

  • Proficiency in claims management software and estimating platforms

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written skills for negotiating and explaining coverage

  • Industry knowledge

  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of the claim

  • Strong understanding of auto insurance policies, liability laws, and vehicle repair process

  • Ability to use claims management software

Compensation

Base Pay range: $22.60 - $33.27 / hourly

While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
