Part Time Attorney information

What is a part time attorney?

A part time attorney is a licensed lawyer who works fewer hours than a full-time attorney, often with a flexible schedule. They may handle specific cases, work on a contract basis, or provide legal services to clients while balancing other commitments. Part time attorneys can work for law firms, corporations, government agencies, or as solo practitioners. This arrangement is ideal for those seeking work-life balance or pursuing other interests alongside their legal career.

How do part time attorneys typically balance client expectations with reduced hours?

Part-time attorneys often manage client expectations by clearly communicating their availability and setting realistic timelines for deliverables. They may prioritize tasks, delegate certain responsibilities, and utilize technology to stay organized and responsive. Collaboration with full-time colleagues is common, ensuring that client matters progress smoothly even when the part-time attorney is not in the office. This structure allows for effective workload management while maintaining high-quality legal service.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, state bar admission, and strong legal research and writing skills. Familiarity with legal research databases like Westlaw or LexisNexis and case management software is often necessary. Excellent time management, communication, and client-relations skills help maximize productivity in a flexible or reduced-hour schedule. These abilities ensure effective legal representation, compliance with professional standards, and the ability to deliver quality service despite limited hours.

What is the difference between Part Time Attorney vs Contract Attorney?

Overview

LKV Realty, LLC is a client-focused real estate brokerage committed to delivering exceptional service throughout every step of the buying and selling process. We pride ourselves on professionalism, responsiveness, and creating a seamless experience for our clients and agents. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an organized and motivated Licensed Transaction Coordinator to join our team.

LKV Realty is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Licensed Listing Transaction Coordinator to manage residential real estate listing transactions from executed listing agreement through closing. This position serves as the central point of coordination between the brokerage, seller, title companies, attorneys, lenders, inspectors, appraisers, contractors, and other transaction partners to ensure every listing progresses smoothly and all contractual obligations and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicates exceptionally well, enjoys building efficient processes, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where organization and attention to detail are essential.

This is a remote, part-time position averaging approximately 20 to 30 hours per week, with flexibility based on transaction volume. We offer a competitive pay range of $27.07 to $33.85 per hour, medical benefits starting on day one, and you'll also receive a company-matched 401(k). Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors.

Availability during normal business hours is expected to ensure timely communication with clients, agents, and transaction partners. The Transaction Coordinator will manage approximately 20 to 30 residential closings per month, maintaining exceptional service standards and ensuring that every file meets brokerage and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Manage residential listing transactions from executed listing agreement through closing.
  • Review contracts, amendments, disclosures, and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintain transaction files in accordance with Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requirements and LKV Realty policies.
  • Track and monitor all contractual deadlines, contingencies, financing milestones, inspection periods, and closing dates.
  • Monitor earnest money deposits, option fee deadlines, and other contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate communication between sellers, title companies, attorneys, lenders, inspectors, appraisers, contractors, and other transaction partners.
  • Schedule inspections, appraisals, final walkthroughs, contractor appointments, and closing appointments.
  • Obtain required signatures on contracts, disclosures, amendments, and closing documents.
  • Prepare transaction files for brokerage compliance review and ensure all required documentation is complete before closing.
  • Coordinate MLS status updates with the listing agent as transactions progress.
  • Prepare and organize closing documentation and ensure complete post-closing file retention.
  • Provide proactive transaction updates to all parties throughout the transaction process.
  • Identify and resolve transaction issues before they become problems.
  • Assist the Broker with transaction-related administrative tasks and process improvements as needed.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple transactions while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and transaction management software such as Dotloop, SkySlope, Lone Wolf, or similar.
