About LIFE Pittsburgh
Aging is inevitableโ€”but how we age can be phenomenal. LIFE Pittsburgh is a growing nonprofit organization with a mission to help older adults age with dignity, independence, and joy.

With a team of 350+ purpose-driven professionals, we offer a compassionate alternative to institutional care through the nationally recognized PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. Our teamsโ€”nurses, physicians, therapists, social workers, and othersโ€”wrap each Participant in care designed to honor their choices, preserve their independence, and uplift their daily lives.

Here, your job is more than a job. Itโ€™s a calling to care.

What We Offer

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement savings (401k) with immediate company match
  • Life insurance for you and your family
  • Tuition reimbursementโ€”because your growth matters
  • Paid time off with generous accruals
  • Up to 9 paid holidays to rest and recharge
  • Short- and long-term disability plans
  • EAP support that includes Mental health and wellness
  • A team that sees your valueโ€”not just your hours

Youโ€™ve seen what makes someone vulnerable. Now be part of what makes them resilient.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at LIFE Pittsburgh, your work has real weight. Youโ€™ll serve older adults across Allegheny Countyโ€”not in a hospital, but in their homes, communities, and at our Day Health Centers. Youโ€™ll be the face they trust and the steady hand they rely on.

Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail older adults can remain in their own home and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community.

Why Nurses Choose LIFE Pittsburgh

  • Hands-On Impact โ€“ You make a visible difference every day.
  • Team Support โ€“ You work closely with RNs, physicians, and social workers.
  • Respectful Culture โ€“ Youโ€™ll be seen, heard, and supported by a team that cares.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Provide hands-on personal and clinical care (wound care, medication administration, respiratory support)
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to the RN or IDT
  • Assist with medication box preparation and physician order follow-up
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication
  • Help Participants remain safe and supported in their homes

Where Youโ€™ll Work

Your day may start at one of our welcoming Day Health Centers in Greentree, Northshore, Allegheny Center, or McKees Rocks, but your impact reaches far beyond. Our nurses sometimes travel throughout Allegheny County to deliver care where it matters mostโ€”in the community, in homes, and in the hearts of those we serve.

Youโ€™ll serve older adults throughout Allegheny County, providing care at our Day Health Centers and in Participantsโ€™ homes, community spaces, or local healthcare facilitiesโ€”wherever support is needed most.

Requirements:

What Youโ€™ll Need

  • Active PA LPN license
  • Minimum one year of experience with the elderly and or frail.
  • CPR certification
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance

This is more than a nursing role. Itโ€™s a career rooted in empathy, designed for impact, and driven by purpose.
