Job description

The Administrative Assistant provides part-time administrative and clerical support to the TRIO Student Support Services program. This position assists with daily office operations, student records management, and program support activities to ensure effective service delivery and compliance with federal grant and institutional requirements. Employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide administrative and clerical support to TRIO Student Support Services staff

Maintain accurate student records and files in accordance with federal TRIO regulations and university policies

Perform data entry and assist with tracking student participation, services, and program outcomes

Assist with front office operations, including answering phones, responding to email inquiries, and greeting students and visitors

Prepare correspondence, reports, and program materials as needed

Assist with scheduling meetings, workshops, and program activities

Support purchasing requests, supply inventory, and basic office operations

Assist with preparation and logistics for workshops, orientations, and special events

Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and program information

Perform other duties as assigned in support of program goals

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 - Minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible professional office experience

- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

- Experience with budget monitoring, financial tracking, and/or basic fiscal management

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various populations 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Knowledge of TRIO programs and federal grant regulations

Prior experience with TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) or other federally funded programs

Work Conditions:

Part-time position/ 29 hours per week.
