Basic Function/Definition

Knowledge of: Principles, theories, methods and practices of psychological interventions, personality development, psychopathology, learning; legal mandates and regulations regarding the practice of psychology.

Ability to: Effectively plan, organize, and coordinate the programs and services offered by Psychological Services; establish policies and procedures, maintain files, collect data regarding the effectiveness of services, communicate effectively in verbal and written form, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, establish rapport with students form diverse backgrounds.

Essential Duties Minimum Qualifications

Education: Doctorate (Ph.D. or PsyD.) in clinical or counseling psychology

Experience: Two years recent post-licensure experience providing clinical services.

Credentials/License: Possess or be eligible for a license as a psychologist issued by the California State Board of Psychology (Please reference the California Business and Professions Code Section 2946).

Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Equivalencies Responsibilities Foreign Degrees

Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
