Summary of Position
The part-time PHYSICAL SCIENCE faculty is an instructional position directly responsible to the Associate Dean, Fort Hood Campus. The instructor's duties and responsibilities are teaching students and performing a variety of administrative duties.
Compensation is based on type of course and number of students, paid by Part time employment agreement.
Education and Experience
Master's degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with at least 18 graduate semester credits in PHYSICAL SCIENCE related to the coursework to be taught is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills.
  • Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of academic integrity standards and college-level expectations

  • Must be efficient with using computers and learning various electronic systems such as Etrieve (electronic forms), Eagle Self Service and Blackboard.

Essential Functions
  • Conducting classroom instruction at the highest possible level of efficiency and interest for students; adhere to assigned class time schedule.
  • Integrate reading, writing, and critical thinking strategies to promote academic literacy.
  • Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls require by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date.

  • Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and resources.
  • Advise Fort Hood Office of needed supplies, books, equipment, and printing within 72 hours of needed time.
  • Keep supervisor informed of any student needs and problems.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
