Part-time Accounting Assistant - Contract Assignment -
20 hours a week that will grow into full time contract for 6 months.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accounting Assistant with hands-on experience using Sage accounting software. This role supports day-to-day financial operations, ensures accurate record-keeping, and assists with reporting and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage accounting software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and review invoices, expense reports, and payment runs
- Generate financial reports and summaries as needed
- Support payroll processing (if applicable)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist with audits and provide documentation when required
Qualifications:
- Proven experience using Sage (e.g., Sage 50, Sage 100, or similar)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
