Job description

Job Description These positions are employed as part-time during the year with the City of Longview at Mint Valley Golf Course. This recruitment will stay open until all positions have been filled. Recruitment Information: This recruitment will be open until filled and applications will be reviewed as they come in.

Position Overview: Guest Services will assist with the daily golf operations at Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, and providing other services to ensure an exceptional golf experience for our clientele. **A pre-employment background check will be conducted.** Essential Job Duties Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures guest check-in and collects fees. Advises golfers of schedules of play and waiting times, course conditions, and course rules

Prepares golf carts for use; cleans, services, and positions carts after each round. Assists with merchandise and inventory, displays, control, promotion, and sales of merchandise. Keep current and informed of promotions and all club activities and services.

Collect and wash golf balls for the driving range. Operate City equipment to collect golf balls from the driving range. Assists with accounting for fees collected and with keeping clerical records.

Assists in tournaments and special events. Assists with first aid for minor accidents. May perform routine custodial and labor work to maintain neat and orderly golf course and building conditions.

Performs miscellaneous, minor maintenance and labor tasks on the golf course under all weather conditions. Ensures that patrons have a safe and enjoyable golf experience. Take food orders, prepare and cook food.

Perform inventory count of supplies and equipment and report to the manager. Perform cleaning duties daily of the food service process and preparation areas, ensuring compliance with standard, health and sanitary requirements. Assists the Golf Recreation Specialist and Golf Operations Manager as needed.

Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Prior golf course, golfing, food handling, and/or retail experience preferred. 1 year cash handling, accounting, and auditing experience is preferred.

First Aid/CPR Certification or obtain within ninety (90) calendar days or as scheduled. Food Handlers Card or obtain within ninety (90) calendar days or as scheduled. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Mandatory Alcohol Servers Training or obtain within sixty (60) calendar days or as scheduled. Clear pre-employment background check. Ideal Candidate Information Required Knowledge and Ability: Knowledge of golf play, rules and etiquette conducive to acceptable play.

Knowledge of proper golf course conditions. Knowledge of the methods and techniques for cashiering. Working knowledge of first aide for minor accidents.

Ability to enforce rules and regulations firmly and professionally. Ability to follow directives in an effective and timely manner. Ability to perform custodial and laboring functions.

Safe work practices. Communicate effectively both written and verbal in English. Deal courteously and tactfully with the public and other city employees.

Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
