Job description

Family Location: 90503
Summary:
A bit about us:
We’re a FUN-loving, tight-knit family of 3 who love our two small dogs and one parakeet. We both work full-time and want our daughter to have an engaging and responsible big sister/big brother type nanny.
Our 12-year-old daughter likes playing Sharks and Minnows at the pool, Disneyland, going to the park, and playing make-believe with her dolls and stuffies. Like most pre-teens, she enjoys her screens, and we'd love to find a nanny who can naturally draw her into other activities, keep her active, and encourage a healthy balance without constant battles over screen time.
A bit about you:
You’re a fun, playful nanny who isn’t afraid to make messes! You’re open to feedback, communicate well with parents, and have endless ideas for activities that don’t involve the iPad. You’re able to assist with 7th-grade homework and enjoy connecting with kids at this unique age and stage. You’re the type of nanny who establishes trust, guides with patience and kindness, and is confident and consistent when boundaries need reinforcement. You understand that caring for a pre-teen requires a unique skill set—balancing growing independence with clear expectations, building connection through collaboration, and knowing when to give space and when to provide guidance.
Job Duties:
School/summer camp pick-ups (could walk for school/drive for summer camp), preparing a snack, homework help, play and activities, driving to activities and excursions like the beach or Disneyland, children’s simple dinner prep, tidying only play-related messes during care hours, daily dog walking.
Position Highlights:
  • Guaranteed Hours
  • W-2 payroll
  • Longterm Outlook
  • Fun-focused placement

Qualifications: 2+ years of childcare experience, fluent in English, Driver’s License, comfortable driving our child in your personal vehicle, a clean driving record, college degree or in college, and basic cooking ability (such as heating up a frozen pizza or making a PB&J).
Set yourself apart (Nice-to-Have): You are flexible to work some weeknights and weekends with prior notice. Experience working with middle-school-aged children in settings such as after-school programs, camps, coaching, or youth organizations is a plus. We’d especially love to hear from candidates who appreciate the humor, curiosity, and growing independence that make this age such a fun and rewarding stage to work with.
Schedule: Mon-Fri (2:30-6:30p)
*We can offer some flexibility in the summer and provide additional hours if desired.
                   Starts ASAP!
Pay: $23-$27 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
