Part 135 information
What is the difference between Part 135 vs Part 91?
| Aspect | Part 135 | Part 91 |
|---|---|---|
| Certifications & Requirements | Requires specific FAA certification, pilot qualifications, and operational approval | No specific FAA certification; general operating rules apply |
| Work Environment | On-demand charter flights, air taxi services | Private, recreational, or business flights without commercial operation constraints |
| Usage & Industry | Commercial air transportation, charter services | Private flying, personal use, non-commercial activities |
Part 135 involves commercial air transportation with strict FAA regulations, requiring specific certifications and operational standards. In contrast, Part 91 covers private and recreational flying with fewer regulatory requirements.
