North Texas Building Engineering Service Project Delivery Leader

HDR has an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced professional to serve in a leadership position as the North Texas Building Engineering Services (BES) Project Delivery Leader (PDL). As PDL, you will report to the North Texas BES Business Group Manager (BGM) and work alongside the BGM to provide and promote consistent project management processes, quality and oversight of project delivery across the BG.

As PDL, you will collaborate closely with BG leadership to promote and advance project management skills development, career path development, and mentorship of BG staff. Your direct reports may include local program managers, project managers, commercial managers, and collaborative delivery leads. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PDL will be responsible for understanding and having direct knowledge of the HDR project management tools and collaborating, training, and mentoring staff on their implementation and use. You will also support recruiting and retention efforts for the program.

In the role of BES Project Delivery Leader, we will count on you to:

  • Promote, monitor, and develop project management skills and quality best practices for BES staff across the Area
  • Provide project management team organization and leadership for projects across the BG
  • Monitor project QC Review activities including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers
  • Lead and monitor activities for continuous improvement of Project Management including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices and lessons learned
  • Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities, striving for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate effectively with BG operations, market leadership / sectors, business classes, and Professional Services Leaders
  • Perform delegated matrix of authority (MOA) responsibilities from BGM
  • Work with Business Group Manager to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with the overall Area, corporate policy, and MOA
  • Assist with daily operations, such as project oversight, management reviews, financials and driving profitability at the project level
  • Develop and implement standard project delivery practices, procedures, and approaches
  • Participate in 0% reviews, project reviews, and PARR's and support project teams with management of claims and losses
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with project teams to verify that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience developing, managing, and leading multi-discipline project delivery teams
  • Proven history of delivering high quality, profitable and successful facility projects
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with systems and PM tools for effective project management and delivery.  Extensive industry experience in delivering facility projects across market sectors
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
