Job description

Parkway is looking for a Property Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Property Accountant is responsible for the accounting and financial statements for multiple properties. Property Accountants are also expected to complete special projects as assigned.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements and debt compliance packages for multiple office and industrial portfolios.
  • Prepares GAAP supporting schedules/spreadsheets to reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Records accruals, reclasses, recurring journal entries, and tracks capital projects as part of the monthly package preparation.
  • Assists in preparing property budgets and completing monthly financial budget variance analysis.
  • Prepares annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) tenant billing estimates and annual reconciliations.
  • Prepares cash projection analysis for reporting portfolio.
  • Ensures timely payment of real estate taxes and mortgage payments.
  • Provides accounting support to internal teams including Owners, Management, Investments, Property Management, and accounting operational support teams (AP, AR, and Lease Administration).
  • Also, provides accounting support to external stakeholders including Lenders and Third Party ownership groups.
  • Assist with annual audit testing.
  • Complies with all applicable Federal and State regulations and Company directives related to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Participates in and contributes to department staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • Contributes toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of influence; continues to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
  • Assists with other duties as necessary and provides general support of the Parkway mission in whatever way(s) possible.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Accounting work or internship experience at the following levels: Property Accountant 1 - internship or limited accounting experience; Property Accountant 2 - multiple years of accounting experience.
  • General accounting knowledge and understanding is required.
  • Advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and client service skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. Builds relationships and works cohesively with others.

  • Aptitude for working in a highly detailed, data-driven environment.
