Position Summary
Under general supervision performs a wide variety of patrol and community policing duties involving the prevention of crime the protection of life and property and the enforcement of Federal State and local laws and ordinances; serves subpoenas; makes arrests and transports suspects into custody; assists in processing crime scenes and preserving evidence; assists in the preparation of cases and testifies in court; and performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a P.O.S.T. Certified Academy or a Lateral Police Officer
  • Possess a current and valid California Driver’s License – must provide DMV driving record with application.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or meet the requirements of Government Code 1031
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Examination Procedure
  • Oral board exam
  • Police Chief’s interview

  • Criminal History and Background Check: Applicants will be fingerprinted for the purpose of a search of local, state and national fingerprint files to disclose any criminal record
  • Medical exam by a physician and psychological screening
