The Clark County Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the following Part-Time positions:
  • Lifeguard (Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors, and Supervisory)- $15.00 to $23.98/hour
  • Recreation Assistants- $13.08 to $23.98/hour
  • Safekey- $15.00 to $23.98/hour
  • Special Events- $17.00 to $32.70/hour

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience: Age restrictions may apply for some positions. High school diploma or GED and previous experience leading children in a recreation setting preferred but not required.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Event Production Tech I, II, III (Special Events): This positionwill function as a stagehand, deckhand or stage manager, that will include set up/tear down, rigging, or construction of some of the following: staging, audio, lighting, barricade, tables, chairs, tents, signage, trash cans, etc. Employee will demonstrate professionalism and good customer service when working with clients and the public, handle equipment with care and ensure proper use/storage, read and understand technical set-up documentation such as stage plots, light plots, and audio plots, in addition to having a general understanding of OSHA codes pertaining to general workplace safety. Must be able to operate forklift to complete setup with certification. Operate golf carts and oversized motor vehicles with certification. May be required to perform tasks outside of specific scope of work as assigned.
Lifeguard/WSI/Supervisory Positions: This position oversee the safety of patrons in, on and around the aquatic facility and deal with issues as they arise. Water Safety Instructors (WSI) require additional certification to teach swim lessons. Supervisory positions require a combination of certifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
Museum Store Associate (Clark County Museum): This position will include closing and securing all buildings and serving as a cashier in the museum store. Duties will also include answering phones, handling visitor inquiries, stocking and organizing merchandise, assisting with special events, and other various tasks as assigned.
Recreation Assistant (Front Desk, Day Camp, Sports, Classes): This position will involve working with the public. Duties will include answering phones, handling customer inquiries, using a computer to sell merchandise, schedule reservations, rent equipment, cash handling, giving out center and community information, set up and break down for various activities, and other various tasks as assigned.
Recreation Program Assistant (Safekey): This positionwill be responsible for supervision of children ages 6-12 in an active environment facilitating recreational activities such as board games, sports, arts & crafts, and special events. Employee will serve as a positive role model for participants promoting and ensuring County department and Safekey policies and procedures are followed.
