Job description

Job Description:

Join Pape-Dawson's Houston Landscape Architecture team and help design memorable places within one of the nation's most active development markets. Since establishing local roots in 1991, Pape-Dawson has built a strong reputation for delivering integrated planning, engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services throughout Greater Houston. Our collaborative approach gives landscape architects the opportunity to work closely with developers, engineers, planners, and public partners to shape communities from initial vision through final design and construction.

The team's work includes high-impact projects such as The Highlands, a 2,300-acre master-planned community featuring extensive open space, lakes, trails, parks, streetscapes, monument signage, and recreational amenities. With multiple phases still underway-including a more than 300-acre floodplain park along the San Jacinto River-this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a long-term, regionally significant project while creating thoughtful outdoor environments that connect residents, strengthen communities, and enhance the way people experience the places they call home.

We are seeking a full-time Landscape Architect Project Manager to join our Landscape Architecture and Land Planning team based in our Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and has a passion for creating places that are authentic, innovative, and functional. This position will have an opportunity to work on a broad range of projects including master-planned communities, parks, green infrastructure, urban plazas and infill, mixed use spaces, and urban streetscape redevelopment.

This position will collaborate in-house with other landscape architects, civil engineers, and land surveyors to assist our clients in developing commercial, residential, mixed-use projects and park projects.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain project structure, budget, and schedule
  • Review design criteria, documents, and specifications throughout a project lifecycle
  • Assist department leads in preparing proposals and assigning project teams
  • Manage and mentor a team to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Lead monthly project billing processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion
  • Manage the design of projects in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other softwares
  • Attend and lead meetings with clients, reviewing agencies, contractors, and other design professionals
  • Additional related duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a planning and design firm
  • RLA or AICP certification preferred
  • Portfolio of previous land development projects, public or private
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX, and Adobe Suite experience
  • Adaptability and time management
  • Strong communication skills
