Job description

JOB SUMMARY 

Retail Associates at NOC's Grove Park Inn in Asheville store provide our guests with an extraordinary customer experience by sharing their passion for the activities and products that NOC promotes and sells. Ideal candidates for this position are knowledgeable about the outdoors, passionate about customer service, and committed to NOC's Core Values: Lead by Example, Service Before Self, Do the Right Thing, Work Hard/Play Hard and Make It Happen. 
This position reports to the Store Manager. We are looking for applicants that are able to join our team on a year-round basis. Ideal applicants will be able to work during weekends, evenings, and holidays.  

Responsibilities 

  • Discovering guest needs through engaging and inspiring interactions and providing viable solutions for each guest.  
  • Meet or exceed sales goals.  
  • Maintaining a visually appealing presentation with products and signage.  
  • Maintain all products are fully stocked at all times. 
  • Uphold store cleanliness standards.  
  • Learn all aspects of the role, products, and services offered by NOC.   
  • Process sales accurately and timely.   
  • Promote the various adventure activities that the NOC has to offer, as well as provide information about the various outdoor activities available in our surrounding region.  
  • Assist with product merchandising, stocking the sales floor, and other projects as directed.  
  • Facilitate a positive team dynamic amongst operations staff.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

Preferred 

  • 2+years of experience working in a retail and/or resort setting. 
  • Cash handling experience  
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the outdoor adventures and products that the NOC promotes and sells.
  • Knowledge of Lightspeed retail POS system

Required 

  • Must be self-sufficient and work independently as well as contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Able to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm while communicating with potential customers. 
  • Ability to work accurately under stress and pressure to meet competing deadlines. 
  • Ability to multitask several projects at once. 
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue with a positive attitude when reaching the next potential customer. 
  • Help customers make selections by building customer confidence; 
  • Attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. 
  • Be willing to learn about the amenities, offerings, and events at the Grove Park Inn

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. 
  • Must speak clearly and concisely.  
  • Comfortable working in a guest facing position.
