Job description

 

DRIVER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for transporting materials and other goods from our manufacturing plant to various business addresses. Their duties include loading goods, using navigation tools to arrive at the right address and delivering material to the correct address.

Delivery Driver Responsibilities:

  • Follow the best practices for safety both on the road and while loading/unloading a truck.
  • Communicating with their immediate supervisor, drivers, and other team members to assist in deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Following their delivery route set forth by their immediate supervisor and meeting delivery times.
  • Performing basic truck maintenance, such as performing periodic vehicle maintenance checklist.
  • Obtaining internal and external customer signature for the materials delivered.

Delivery Driver Qualifications/Skills:

  • A valid Class C Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as glass and mirror.
  • Familiarity of utilizing navigation system to efficiently route their deliveries.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to load and unload cargo up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work independently and within a team

Education, Experience, and Skills

-          Using initiative, discretion, and judgment within established procedures, guidelines, and rules.

-          Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.

-          Prior experience driving a box truck and/or hauling trailers.

-          2 years minimum of delivery driver experience

-          High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

 

Schedule: Mon-Fri (8am- 5pm) + OT

Pay:  DOE
