POSITION SUMMARY
The Non-Instructional Aide provides support to teachers and administration in ensuring a safe, orderly learning environment and to enforce school policy. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to information concerning students, personnel, and other administrative matters affecting the district.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • Preferred Current GA Paraprofessional Certificate; OR
  • Associate's degree or completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education.
  • Required- High School Diploma or equivalent GED

WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to de-escalate possible conflicts.
• Ability to make good decisions in difficult situations.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of school safety & security procedures.
• Proficient Microsoft Office.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Provides assistance to areas within the school building including but not limited to the office, hallways, and restrooms.
• Provides presence and coverage in the cafeteria by assisting and monitoring students during lunch period. Assists with cleaning the eating areas, such as wiping down tables at the end of lunch period.
• Provides non-instructional computer assistance to students. Also may provide clinical aide assistance and personal care services.
• Provides supervision when students are outside at recess and inside during indoor recess by organizing activities and providing assistance when playing games
. Maintains discipline and monitors student behavior. • Assists with supervising students before the school day begins and at dismissal to ensure transportation at the end of the day.
• Provides coverage to the detention area and hallways as needed. • During fire drills or other emergency evacuation of the school, assists in ensuring a safe and orderly exiting of the building.
• May assist in the classroom at the direction of the teacher or administrator, when requested.
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
