The Opportunity
  • Buyer at a growth-oriented downstream energy company
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and Procurement team members across Hawaii, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, and Washington.
  • Reporting to the Procurement and Warehouse Manager, execute and manage the procurement of goods and services supporting Par Hawaii's refining and logistics operations while advancing our Company mission of "Humbly Serving Communities."

Key activities include:
  • Manage the source-to-pay cycle in Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP), including purchase orders, supplier sourcing and negotiations, delivery expediting, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Handle complex and time-sensitive procurement needs while ensuring compliance with Company policies, delegated authority, Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive cost savings and supplier-consolidation initiatives
  • Expedite critical orders and coordinate inbound logistics to address delivery delays, shortages, and Hawaii shipping constraints.
  • Resolve purchase-order, receipt, and invoice discrepancies while maintaining accurate, compliant, and audit-ready procurement records.
  • Drive cost savings and supplier-consolidation initiatives and support cross-functional partners.

Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • An associate degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience - is required
  • Minimum two years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience required
  • Minimum one year in oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, energy, or another heavy industrial environment preferred
  • Experience using SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or a comparable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for requisitions, purchase orders, outline agreements, and goods receipts required.
  • CPSM, CPSD, C.P.M., CIPS, or a comparable professional certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, freight and logistics, total cost of ownership, SOX controls, delegation of authority, and procurement compliance required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate expenditure and supplier data, required.
  • Experience supporting refinery maintenance, turnarounds, capital projects, and MRO procurement preferred.
  • Experience with Ariba, Coupa, purchasing-card programs, Jones Act or island logistics, and Hawaii operations preferred.
  • This is an in-office position in Kapolei
  • Must be willing to travel to collaborate with our operations teams in Houston, Montana, Washington and Wyoming

Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $76,000-$95,000, plus non-discretionary. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
